I really enjoy the Peter Mark VIP style awards – it’s probably one of my favorite nights of the year! Yes it can be a pain finding something to wear and booking those last minute appointments for hair and make up while also trying to learn scripts and sit through meetings days before the event as Xpose televise the whole thing.
This year myself and my pal and co host Cassie stokes were on red carpet duties – meeting everyone from Irish TV & Radio as well as models and socialites. It’s a chance to catch up people that you’ve worked with over the past few months and people who you haven’t seen since last years awards.
The food at The Marker is always delicious and I have to say this year I really enjoyed it as I wasn’t drinking and for some reason I can’t get enough food into me right now.
Everyone always waits nervously to hear Michael O Doherty’s Publisher of VIP Magazine speech but in the last few years he’s turned a bit soft and has taken a more subtle approach when delivering his lines.. maybe it’s because he’s now a man of the law.
Just to fill you in on the getting ready process…

I had to meet the talented Umit kutluk in his designer showrooms on Merrion square for last minute alterations and then jumped a taxi to Baggot street to Callan & Co for my hair and make up.
The beautiful Breffini transformed me and boy did she have a job on her hands as I wasn’t feeling the best or looking the best because I’m suffering with morning sickness.
Then it was downstairs to Daire where he put my hair up into a loose ponytail – I had already had a blow dry the night before by my pal Karen Bruton.
I then headed back to Umit to collect my outfit and then stepped on to the Red carpet at 7pm mic in hand and ready to go!
Lights, Camera, Action!
Bravo to all involved in making the style awards another successful night!
